Our Team
Sonia Cairns A co-founder and
principal of Moss Cairns, Cairns helps corporations, public policy
groups, foundations and collaboratives organize and manage high
impact meetings and projects that are launching pads for concrete
actions.
Cairns leads projects that bridge the
gap between business and society such as Building Talent for Minnesota's
New Economy, Rethinking Work in America and the Metropolitan
Council's Smart Growth Twin Cities.
Cairns is on the Board of Directors and
Executive Committee of the American Refugee Committee, the Plymouth
Church Neighborhood Foundation, Plymouth Housing LLC and is a
member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and
its Mastermind program.
Prior to starting Moss Cairns, she founded
and led Marecek & Cairns, a public affairs consulting firm and
was manager of Public Affairs for Honeywell.
Steve Moss A co-founder and principal
of Moss Cairns, Moss has over ten years' experience with Moss
Cairns and its predecessor firm, working in all aspects of managing
and growing this small business. A writer, program consultant,
and facilitator, Moss has created, designed and managed dozens
of projects and meetings on business, economic and public policy
issues for organizations around the country.
Major areas of emphasis for his public
affairs work have been education reform, workforce development,
economic development and health care.
Prior to joining Moss Cairns, Moss was
a technical writer and worked with the founder of a national environmental
research organization in New York. He holds a Masters degree from
the University of Chicago and graduated summa cum laude from St.
John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
Leanne Mossefin As director of
special programs, she has worked on a variety of meeting programs
Ð from small continuing medical education meetings integrating
interactive technology to managing all aspects of multi-day conferences.
Prior to joining Moss Cairns, Mossefin
was the director of development research for a private liberal
arts university. She received her business administration degree
from the University of St. Thomas.
In addition, Moss Cairns has a vast network
of colleagues that we work with on meetings and projects in their
area of expertise.
