Top Ten University
Need: This University wanted to
generate participation of 300 administrators and faculty at its
national symposium regarding faculty of color.
Our Solution: Participants were
asked to identify, rank and discuss issues and strategies for
recruiting, retaining and developing faculty of color at their
institutions.In addition, we helped the University develop a conference
report that captured findings and recommendations for action.
National Technical University
Need: The University wanted to
conduct a forum on the campus climate for diversity as follow-up
on an earlier faculty survey.
Our Solution: We helped the administrative
leadership organize the meeting agenda, develop an invitational
strategy and adapt their experience with APT into applications
for potential interactive forums in the future.
State College and University System
Need: This educational system
was particularly concerned about eliciting faculty input regarding
radical changes that had occurred from the recent merger of several
college systems.
Our Solution: We helped them design
and facilitate a highly productive meeting, using our APT, that
garnered benchmark data on attitudes and excellent ideas for how
to proceed with even more administrative and academic changes.
Community Collge
Need: The President of this community
college needed to create a constructive consensus building session
with his faculty and staff in order to implement his Strategic
Plan.
Our Solution: We utilized our
APT to poll faculty from several campuses about teaching, learning
and research priorities, administrative practices and the College's
resources and relations with the community.
Private K-12 School
Need: To develop a education symposium
to celebrate their centennial.
Our Solution: We worked with this
school on the development of the symposium by recommending potential
sponsorships, developing the invitational strategy, structure
and concept for the program, researched and recruited keynote
speaker as well as researched and secured venue.
Private Liberal Arts University
Need: The President wanted to
position this University as a leader in sponsoring major public
forums and lecture series.
Our Solution: We managed numerous
public forums and lecture series for the University.
Organization of Urban Public School Systems
Need: This organization wanted
to hold a satellite forum to explore the relationship between
city schools and the press.
Our Solution: Carole Simpson,
the forum's moderator, used our APT to collect participants' feedback
regarding the responsibilities of the school districts and the
media and to outline specific areas where change was most needed.
Major Metropolitan Education Commission
Need: Commission wanted to bring
together members of the education and business communities to
discuss and prioritize education issues related to the areas of
equity, funding, structure, commitment, communication and standards.
Our Solution: Our APT was used
to survey the audience and build data that would be necessary
to make and implement recommendations that generated education
improvements in this metropolitan area.
Consortium of Metropolitan Organizations
Need: This consortium of organizations
develops an annual showcase of school-to-career issues to update
stakeholders and generate support for new reforms.
Our Solution: We have consulted
on the format, managed the use of our APT, trained facilitators
and worked with presenters to ensure that their commentary was
articulate and encouraged conversation.
Career Fair
Need: A consortium of education
and business organizations wanted to expose 800 9th-12th
grade students in an urban school system to career path opportunities.
Our Solution: We managed all components
of this annual career fair including list generation and managing
all mailing and communications, managing all logistical arrangements
with the venue, recruitment of exhibitors and volunteers, press
communications and management of the registration process. We
also integrated our APT into break-out sessions with students
to survey them on their current knowledge and opportunities.
